Dipping Beneath the Surface of the Beautiful Bay of Islands
Bay of Islands Snorkelling
welcomes you to the warmest waters here in New Zealand, just a few hours north of Auckland.
Visit the #1 snorkelling spot here in the Bay of Islands on your memorable snorkelling trip, we will see and interact with an abundance of sealife and explore a big archway in a well-established Rahui in Maunganui Bay (No take area). I have personally watched the marine life grow and thrive since the Rahui came into place in 2010 and it is definitely the top spot!
The Bay of Islands comprises of 144 picturesque islands off the Eastern coast of Northland, New Zealand. Our snorkelling trips cruise pass many of these to get out to our snorkelling spot but we also stop along the way to give you some local insight to the area.
Our main area for snorkelling is Deep Water Cove (Maunganui Bay) on the Cape Brett Peninsula, which is very well known for its clarity of water – even up to 20 metres at times. Many of the local tour boats don’t have the required power or range to explore these waters, but our vessel Pelorus Belle will get us there easily in an enjoyable 30-minute journey. Take lots of photos, spot some awesome bird life, or just relax in the sunshine during your comfortable passage through the stunning scenery.
As owner operator who has worked out here for over 25 years I love it with a passion so I am happy to share a few of my amazing experiences along the way and with a genuine care for the environment we have very little waste on our trip. Learn about the history and geology of the Islands – and with the years of knowledge of all marine, bird and fish life of the area, you’ll get the best out of your trip.
With small numbers (max. 12) we will give you a personalized trip where you’ll make friends and share memories of a life time. So escape the masses and come join us snorkelling in the Bay of Islands. With super easy Picks up in Paihia and Russell.
